who we are

The Liberty Central Gospel Church (LCGC®) is a non-denominational, full-gospel, Bible-believing Pentecostal-Charismatic Christian church planted by Pastor Hayford Addokwei and his wife, Theresia. It is a community of born-again believers who share a common passion and are committed to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a subordinate entity of HAMINS® Int., which provides the framework, context, and space to decolonise the local church, Christianity, and mission at the grassroots level, the LCGC® envisions the church shaped by its diverse cultural and ethnic makeup (Acts 2:5-12; Rev. 7:9).

The LCGC® decolonises the local church, Christianity, and mission by actively promoting intra- and intercultural dialogue in its regular services and fostering cross-cultural engagement through weekly meal-sharing. It supports initiatives that foster understanding of the beauty, tastes, and flavours of other cultures. Additionally, it cultivates strong community ties and inclusiveness through team-building activities, multilingual liturgy, and communal singing.

Children and youth from German cultural backgrounds have firsthand experience with the languages, cultural specialties, and ethnic uniqueness of peers from non-German cultures. Non-German nationals, by contrast, acquaint themselves with German culture and its ethnic distinctiveness through direct interactions with German nationals. Adults on both sides of the cultural and ethnic divide are thrilled and carried along by the spirit of multiculturalism in a congregation shaped and driven by diversity, inclusion, and mutual integration. Special attention is given to mentoring children and youth who have been traumatised and victimised by racism, social exclusion, and cultural shock within their socio-cultural contexts.

These shared experiences broaden the horizons and worldviews of all parties, shaping their perceptions of the church, Christianity, and mission. They break down generational prejudices, dismantle remnants of colonial and neo-colonial legacies within the local church, and enhance grassroots ecclesial inclusivity.
